Rampant Hull Score 7

Rampant Hull Score 7

A perfect start to the season for the U13’s after recording an excellent 7:2 victory against a very physically powerful Rotherham Schools.

Will Scrimshaw opened the scoring with a contender for goal of the season, after great hold up play from Reece Williams. Rotherham responded quickly with a smart finish from their centre forward. The visitors keeper was lucky to stay on the field after Patrick Yorke was clean through before being cynically cut down. From the resulting free kick, goal of the season contender number 2 was hammered home by the captain Sasha Gomeniuk.

Hull Schools added another 2 before half time with smart finishes from both Kristian Catchpole and Reece Williams respectively. The home side made 2 changes at halftime this along with a change to 442 made Hull more solid at the back but still a threat going forward. Hull went further in front with a smart finish from Alex Batty after he was first to respond to the loose ball.

Rotherham wouldn’t go away and scored a second, as their player responded first after a smart stop from Hull’s Hayden Nelson. Hull completed the scoring with George Doyle adding a further 2 goals, the first a header from a lovely free kick from Owen Bartle and the second a smart finish after some great work from the excellent Catchpole.

There will be harder tests to come but it really was the perfect start.
