The U13’s recorded an impressive 3:1 win against the noisy neighbours to put themselves within touching distance of the Yorkshire Cup semi finals. The game burst into life when Oscar Constantine cut in from the right and surprised the keeper with an early shot that flew in the near post.
Hull where on top from that point and deservedly doubled their lead when Catchpole did what he does scoring a lovely goal from well outside of the box. The half time whistle sounded with East Riding trailing 2 nil and only a nightmare second half could deny the hosts a deserved 3 points.
The 2nd half started in bizarre fashion with the Ref disallowing a goal for handball, much to the annoyance of the away teams manager. The game was effectively over when East Ridings keeper was merely a bystander as the impressive Doyle scored with a thunderous drive from at least 30 yards.
The visitors did manage a late consolation when Hull failed to clear a corner but nothing would deny the hosts a victory they deserved. A point against a well drilled Bradford next week will secure safe passage to the semi finals.
