At the end of May, the Hull Schools FA U14s squad adventured down south. The first time these boys have been away. Some, without their parents. These boys behaved like gents. Highly respectable of their surroundings.
The boys played some of the best football I've seen from them. The togetherness, the attitudes, how they listened to instructions. Wonderful. We certainly blew the opposition away! That much in fact, that several academy coaches asked who our players played for. The shock on their faces when most of the squad were grassroots boys, was brilliant.
Hull dominated the first day of a 2 day tournament. 3rd in the group, 2 pts behind - but with a game in hand.
We started the 2nd day strong, with us needed a single point against Millwall to go through to the semi finals. It wasn't to be. 3 kids limped off injured. Still, the boys fought until the end.
An excellent weekend away, an impressive display at the tournament. Smiley kids at the end. Well done lads, you did yourselves proud!
The pro clubs were that impressed that we've been invited back over the summmer. Little ole Hull, making waves again!
There's not many photos, but here's a few. Along with a couple of our goals captured on video.
